CHALLENGE 1: THE POWDER ROOM

AMY MOSES + JOSUA JOUBERT

This duo brings together the best of both worlds; Amy is a Cape Town based interior designer with experience in joinery, retail, residential, and restaurant design, while Josua is an interior architect from Kempton Park.

With a vision for timeless design and the ability to turn design dreams into reality, they hope to make it through to the final 4 duos who will reimagine and reinvent one of our heritage apartments.

Team Air share their concept for their powder room:

For the Main Bathroom and Bedroom Challenge, we continued with our elemental inspiration, selecting Air as the theme.

  1. Captivating use of limited space that created depth, contrast and strong simplicity while retaining some mystery and intrigue. I LOVE THIS POWDER ROOM – the alcove they created makes it feel very private. It is a real pity that the cupboards were not finished as it would certainly have enhanced the look and feel, and could even have meant the difference between 1st and 2nd place. They have not only had to contend with the challenge of expressing their difficult theme, AIR, but also navigate their team dynamics to achieve a truly stunning endresult. Do not underestimate this duo. This definitive design is testimony to their quiet power.
