THE KITCHEN REVEAL: EPISODE 9

Last week on My Design Rules the duos got going on their next big challenge – the kitchen.

With some ambitious designs, they soon learned the meaning of the phrase ‘if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen’. This week it’s a race against the clock to finish their kitchen spaces before deadline, a critical space that will play a big role in determining the overall winning duo and the grand prize of R300k courtesy of Capitec, plus another R100k is up for grabs for the viewer’s favourite, as voted by you here!

To experience the latest global kitchen trends, Ryle recently had the opportunity to visit the Milan Design Week, where he ran into this week’s guest judge Phillip Kirby from Easylife Kitchens. Also attending the expo was our other guest judge of the week, head of marketing at Caesarstone, Megan Noel.

Inspired by the latest ceramic trends from Milan, Team Fire is working with a talented ceramicist in Scarborough, to create a few bespoke décor items for their kitchen and living space.

At Team Earth’s apartment, the Easylife Kitchens cabinets are in and things are looking positive for the brothers. For Team Fire, Keaton takes a break from the chaos on-site to visit BUCO, in search of some components for a special DIY project and Amy from Team Air visits the Samsung store at Tygervalley mall to pick out the biggest appliance in the apartment.

Who will walk away with the best kitchen? Don’t miss the big kitchen reveal Sunday 7pm on S3 with repeats Thursdays at 2pm and Sundays at 1pm.

Remember to vote for your favourite kitchen design HERE! Every vote counts towards the total score across all the challenges and will determine which duo walks away as the viewer’s favourite, along with R100,000 in cash. Voting for the kitchen challenge closes on 1 December.

Plascon

Plascon Pro Tip: Painting your ceilings tends to make the room feel smaller. So if you’re working with a tiny space, keep in mind how you’d like the room to “feel”.
