House Signature Shiraz – Lee Jacobs (43) & Zanelle Basson (25)

The wildcards of Season 2. Both from Paarl, Zanelle is a horse-riding enthusiast with a meticulous eye for detail, while Lee is a former Mr South Africa runner up, a popular radio presenter and a familiar face in the lifestyle space. They’ve never met before – but the My Design Rules team paired them up for this season to see whether hometown pride and complementary skills can translate into winning designs.

This charming kids room, designed for a 3–4-year-old boy, balances warmth and playfulness with a refined touch. Inspired by the concept of House Signature Shiraz, the space features soft, earthy tones and tactile finishes that evoke natural comfort.

The arched textured headboard adds a whimsical architectural element, while the clay pendant light overhead brings in the grounded essence of the Winelands. Cozy layers of knits, woven baskets, and plush toys create a nurturing, imaginative retreat that feels both stylish and full of heart.
